Headteacher’s Welcome
Flourishing in Learning, Life and Love
It is a privilege to serve Ditton Church of England Junior School as Headteacher and to work alongside our wonderful community of children, families, staff, and governors. As part of the Aletheia Academies Trust, we belong to a family of schools committed to excellence, collaboration, and Christian distinctiveness – partnerships that strengthen our practice and enrich the opportunities we offer our pupils. Ditton is a school shaped by kindness, rooted in faith, and committed to helping every child flourish.
Our Christian vision, Flourishing in Learning, Life and Love, is inspired by the Gospel story of Jesus and the woman at the well. In that encounter, Jesus sees her, listens to her, and restores her sense of worth. He offers her “living water” – love, hope, and new beginnings – and she flourishes. This story guides our way of being at Ditton: we believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and loved – and that when they do, they grow in confidence, courage, and joy.
Our surroundings help tell this story too. The woodland and the little stream that run through Ditton Village remind us daily of how water brings life, helping roots deepen, branches strengthen, and growth unfold over time. In the same way, we nurture strong foundations in learning, character, and faith so that every child can grow with confidence, stand tall, and flourish.
Our core values – Compassion, Honesty, Courage, Perseverance and Gratitude – shape the formation of young people at Ditton. These values help children become confident, kind, and resilient individuals who carry “living water” into their families and community through the way they act, speak, and care for others.
We are blessed with beautiful grounds, extensive resources, and a dedicated team who work with care and commitment every day. Our partnerships across the Trust further strengthen our curriculum, professional development, and shared expertise, ensuring that Ditton continues to grow as a place of nurture and aspiration.
We celebrate children for who they are and guide them as they grow into who they are becoming. We believe every child has immense worth, and our role is to help them discover their strengths, develop their character, and flourish in learning, life, and love.
Education is a shared journey. It takes cooperation, trust and hope to build a great school. I am excited to continue walking that journey with you.

About Ditton Church of England Junior School
Flourishing in Learning, Life and Love
We are a Church of England Junior School located in the heart of a historical location, set on a vast landscape of fields. The majority of our intake is from the community infant school, with which we have strong links. Although we have over 200 children and our site is large, we keep a small, family, community feel.
Our team of dedicated professionals go above and beyond every day to ensure children have the best education and our lunchtime staff ensure there is a huge variety of activities for children to choose from on our playground and field. Furthermore to allow our children additional enrichment we offer a range of after-school clubs based on the voice of the pupils. Every week we celebrate children’s achievements in and outside of school and encourage children to widen their learning to flourish.
Our neighbouring church is involved in regular collective worships and leads services for all the major Christian holidays.
Ditton C of E Junior School, ensuring children have life and live it to the full through our values of compassion, courage, perserverance, gratitude and integrity. We strive to role-model life long learning and our staff are continuously developing themselves as learners to provide the best for our children.
We are proud to be part of Aletheia Academies Trust, and we collaborate with local schools to share practice and opportunity and foster relationships which support our children’s growth.
