Welcome to Dickens Class (Year 5)
Our aim is to create an engaging environment for everyone to be happy, independent, and confident so that they can flourish.
About Miss Knight
I have taught in various school across Kent, predominantly in Key Stage 2. I am passionate about learning and love to share my experience, knowledge and skills.
Outside of school, I enjoy running and keeping fit. I have a keen interest in art and a passion for animals. As well as teaching, I have previously worked in the charity sector and last year I worked at the Dogs Trust to help rehabilitate and rehome dogs.
I look forward to meeting and welcoming parents and children of Dickens Class.

Our timetable can be downloaded below. Here, parents and pupils have the opportunity to view the class schedule to see the day-to-day routine including the range of curriculum that is covered.
Curriculum Overview
Our learning this year will be based on the topics below and will change accordingly each term. Parents will receive a newsletter at the start of each term informing them about what the children will be learning. This will also be available below to download.

Home Learning
Children will be given home learning each week on a Friday to hand in the following Wednesday. They will be given one piece of maths, one piece of Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling and will need to read their Accelerator reading book regularly. This is so they can complete the quizzes on them in class-reading as many words so that they can receive their reading awards.
Times Tables
Children have a login to practice their times tables using an online program. We compete against Blyton Class in Year 5, our rivals, in a friendly manner!
