If you have any question or concerns please contact the year 6 teachers in the first instance via either Class Dojo or the year group e-mail: year6@ditton-jun.kent.sch.uk
September – Complete the Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF) form online. This is open until the end of October and this is where you choose your Secondary schools. This year you will have 6 choices. Please try to fill all choices so that whatever the outcome your child has a place at a school of their choice. If a school is not on your list it is harder to appeal for a place later.
During September and October secondary schools usually offer school tours, however, we are unsure if this will happen at the moment. If your child is touring a school during the school day please use the form in our office to inform us for attendance purposes.
October –Closing date for SCAF form
March – National Offer day. You have 2 weeks to accept the place. Please make an appointment to talk to us if you would like to appeal as we can talk you through the process but more information will also come out nearer the time.
May – Parent appeals open and your evidence is submitted.
June - Parent appeals start and normally each school takes about 2 weeks to make a decision.
Attached below is a document which outlines some key points you may wish to consider if you are lodging a parental appeal.
