Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Expenditure

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

At Ditton Junior School we use Pupil Premium funding to:

  • Provide teaching assistants to run interventions with individuals or small groups of pupils. This means that pupils who may need extra academic, social or emotional support receive appropriate provision.
  • Fund places at school clubs, including music tuition and swimming.
  • Meet contributions to the cost of school trips and residentials to ensure equality of opportunity.
  • Subsidise the cost of equipment and resources to close the attainment gap by accelerating learning.

Attainment data is continually updated and reviewed at SLT meetings and Pupil Progress meetings, as well as being reported to the governing body. The key objective is to ensure that Pupil Premium Funding is used effectively to raise attainment and narrow the gap between pupil groups.
